Celebs take their swings
Both the Counting Crows show at the House of Blues and the June 23 Reebok Heroes Celebrity Baseball Game will raise money for after-school athletic leagues through the Heroes Foundation and the Mike Modano Foundation.
At the game at Frisco's Dr Pepper Ballpark, two teams featuring celebrity athletes and amateurs will compete in some hard-talking, trash-talking baseball.
Former World Series MVP Rollie Fingers will manage the Red Sox with assists from Dallas big shots Bob Sambol, Donnie Nelson and Tommy Guilds. Five-time AL batting champion Wade Boggs will manage the Black Sox with assists from Bennie Bray, Barry Pechenik and John Carlisle.
Players include Mr. Modano, Dallas Stars left wing Brenden Morrow , Cowboys safety Roy Williams, Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware , former Chicago White Sox outfielder Ben Grieve, former Texas Ranger Mark McLemore, NBA All-Star and L.A. Clippers forward Elton Brand, actor Bryan Greenberg (October Road), Dallas-born actor Josh Henderson (Desperate Housewives), brothers Geoff Stults (October Road) and George Stults (7th Heaven), Mavs owner Mark Cuban, brothers Kyle Massey (That's So Raven) and Christopher Massey (Nickelodeon's Zoey 101), actor Evan Jones (Lucky You and October Road), actor Rob Brown (Coach Carter and Take the Lead), actor Samuel Page (Shark) and actor Amaury Nolasco (Prison Break).
